Daily adventures...big and small!!

Life is full of adventures, sometimes you have to make them happen, but often times its just daily life...we have adventures every day, all we have to do is pay attention!!  Kind of like signs from the Lord, they are there we just need to pay attention.

Often times as I reflect back on my day and really think about the way things worked out, I know it was the Lord.  Like, the green lights all the way to work when I'm running late, the open parking spot on the first floor of the garage, saying the right words at the right time, having the right answer for the boss when put on the spot, missing the squirrel that ran in front of the car, a phone call from a special person, seeing a beautiful sunrise on the way to work, etc...it's like "WoW, I know that was you Lord.  Thanks".  So you see adventures can be the little things in life.

Adventures come in all sizes, small, medium, large and every size in between!  Pay attention and enjoy them.  To me an adventure can be something as small as trying a new food or driving down a different street.  The core make up of life is the day to day little things.  Of course, we all have major adventures like, vacations, sporting events, visits with friends and family, births, weddings, funerals etc...but the little things are what really keep it together.

Today's main adventure was; we woke up to no hot water, none, zilch, nada, none!!  And it's 30 degrees, so not even going to think about taking a cold shower.

Called a couple of plumbing companies, finally got one to come out.  We were fortunate it was the two heating elements, only $175.00.  Whew!!  Thank you Lord!!

Also, went to the AT&T store and found ways to save money on the phone bill!!  Score!!  Stopped by TSO and had my glasses adjusted, much better and more comfortable!!  Plus they take our vision care insurance!!  Another score!!  Mr. Husband needs an eye exam and glasses, so this is good news!!

I know this post is kind of random and not dedicated to one subject, but that's how I'm feeling today.  Kind of random and out of sorts!!  Why?  I'm not sure.  Could be the, cold, dreary, cloudy weather we're experiencing, I function much better when the sun is shining!!

Guess I'll stop rambling!!

Life is good, keep it real!!

Hopeless Romantic

Bootsie is a hopeless romantic!!  Mr. Husband not so much, he does have his moments and they are not lost on me.  I totally key in on them...as far and few between as they are!!

It really is the simple things in a relationship and life that complete it, every day is a treasure and should be enjoyed and celebrated.

Dinner on the patio

Have a drink

Eye contact from across the room

A quick wink

Secrete smile

Slipping your arms around the waist from behind with a slight squeeze

Sweet quick kiss

Sitting next to each other holding hands while watching TV

A spontaneous dance in the kitchen

Playful teasing

Teasing can be the promise of more to come from the moment you walk in the door. Romantic gestures are foreplay and can lead to an intimacy that will leave you breathless and in awe of the beauty of just being together.

Life is good, keep it real!!

Boyfriend/girlfriend vs Husband/wife

Ever wonder how different marriages would be if husbands and wives treated each other like boyfriends and girlfriends?   Like in the beginning of a relationship when you're considerate of each others feelings and are on your best behavior.  Well, Bootsie is trying to test this theory...

Bootsie:  I would like to be treated like a girlfriend once a month?  What to you think?

Mr. Husband:  What?  You are my girlfriend.

Bootsie:  Key word "treated" like a girlfriend.  You know nothing elaborate like a fancy dinner or flowers (although that would be awesome), but that's not what I'm talking about.  Think simpler, like no "hey, pull my finger" and then farting in the kitchen or burping really loud while talking to me etc...you get the idea.  It really is the simple things...really it is!!

Mr.  Husband:   But those things are funny and I if I can't do them at home where else is there.  Besides I save the best you Babe!!

Bootsie:  Agreed, sometime those things are funny and we've had many laughs at inappropriate bodily functions.  However, one day a month control those actions...that's not asking too much is it?  One day a month turn music on instead of the TV.

Mr.  Husband:  Makes no comment!  :-/

Bootsie:  I'm not asking you to do anything I'm not willing to do too.  I'll treat you like a boyfriend one day a month too.  For example, I won't come home and immediately change into ratty comfy clothes and pull my hair back in a ponytail (don't care if you think it's cute). We'll have a candle light dinner in the dining room with pretty plates, wine and dessert.

Mr. Husband:  No comment, again! :-/

At this point I'm beginning to wonder what it will take for Mr. Husband to get the message...obviously gentle hints and suggests are lost on him.  Or are they?  He is a man of few words, so maybe, just maybe he is processing and contemplating his next move.  One can only hope...

If there is one piece of advice for all couples to remember it is this:

Never stop courting your wife and never stop flirting with your husband

A special person in my life has told me one than once:  "Never give up"

Life is good, keep it real!!

Charlie Pride - 75 years young and still going strong

It's funny how life throws things at you.  Mr. Husband and I were having dinner at his favorite Mexican restaurant and I was thumbing through the Fort Worth Weekly magazine and on the back page was an advertisement:

 Charlie Pride
Arlington Music Hall,
Saturday, February 1, 2014
7:30 - 9:00

O.M.G. I grew up listening to Charlie Pride and I've wanted to see him for years...well, guess what?
Mr. Husband and I went to Arlington Music Hall and enjoyed Charlie Pride!!!  He played all his old songs and a couple of newer ones, the whole audience was on their feet clapping and singing every word along with him, myself included!!  It was great!!  Brought back many childhood memories.

Backing up a couple of hours before the show, we got there 6:00ish, Arlington Music Hall is an old movie theater that's been converted to a concert venue.  We went to the ticket counter and retrieved our tickets, the nice attendant told us there was a bar and snack bar in the back.  Cool, we'll go have a beer and wait for the show.   So off we go to the back for a beer...then we notice our surroundings!!

Mr. Husband:  I'll get us a beer.

Bootsie:  Okay

Mr. Husband:  Have you noticed we're the youngest people in here and the only ones drinking beer!!

Bootsie:  What? No, way...

Mr. Husband:  Yes, way.  Look around!!

Bootsie:  Ummm, oh well...

It was true!!  Looking around everyone else looked WAY older than us and they were drinking coffee from small white Styrofoam cups!!  Don't think I've ever seen so many men with "rugs" or women with furs and jewels, they were all dressed up for a "night on the town" like it was 40 years ago!!  Old people are so funny...

Closer to show time a few younger couples showed up and went to the bar for beer!!  I use the word "bar" very loosely, it was a table with a hutch set up in the corner of the room...CASH only!!  And the snack bar, basically a couple of  bigger tables set up with popcorn, candy bars, nachos, hot dogs, chips...like a high school concession stand!!  It was hilarious!!

It was a great adventure and we had a lovely night "out on the town", and I use that term loosely too, because the show was over by 9:00 so we were out in time to buy Texas Lotto tickets and were home by 10:00pm.  LOL!!  We're such "party animals"!!
