Disappointments, Discouragement, Let down

When you look forward to something, an event, a visit or just an ordinary day and it doesn't happen like it's supposed to, disappointment always follows.  Sometimes controlling emotions is like trying to nail Jello to a tree...it ain't happening!!!

Disappointment

When all you want is to be number one to one person
For an hour, a day or a life time it is a precious time no matter how long or short
Windows of opportunity are small cracks
When missed or ignored the cracks narrow
Plans are made, plans are broken
Take it personal or accept the circumstances
Sometimes acceptance is the only way
Heartbreak is heartbreak
No matter what the intentions
Hurt is hurt
Raw emotions cannot be controlled or altered
They are what they are
It is what it is
Good or bad emotions have no boundaries
Delicate or sturdy emotions are fragile
Not to be taken for granted
Disappointment instills strength and durability
Never mistake strength and durability for automatic acceptance
Acceptance is learned not earned, when earned, lesson has been learned

Being dismissed, replaced or put off is seldom a feeling of comfort.

Life is good, keep it real.

Back to two...

Everyone loves the newness of a new relationship, the butterflies you feel when you see the person after a separation no matter how long or short the separation has been, the I can keep my hands off you, the I want to spend every waking moment with you, etc...you get the idea!!

The challenge is keeping those feelings alive long term. Keeping the newness and spontaneity going after being together for a while.

Back to Two

begins with everything new and exciting
never knowing what to expect is invigorating
spontaneous kiss, a simple touch sends you over the edge wanting more

comfortableness and contentment settle in
years go rocking by, American dream is achieved
time is spent keeping up with the world, home, work, kids, family and friends,
less spontaneity and excitement

kids gone living their own lives
contentment becomes stagnant
excitement gone nothing new
spontaneous kissing seldom simple touches are few
all seems right on the outside, inside is dying

a dance in the kitchen while cooking
beer on a Tuesday night
brief love note in lunch box
phone call in the middle of day

Hopeful, spontaneity, excitement and newness
being brought back to life
newness and excitement from the old is accomplished - awesome

Relationships are hard, whether it's parent/child, boyfriend/girlfriend, sibling/sibling, husband/wife all relationships take time, patience, understanding, forgiveness, praising and brutal honesty.

Learn from the relationships you have built, keep making them better.  Use the knowledge to build future relationships.  Just remember no two relationships are alike and each require their own unique touches.

There are no right or wrong answers and there is no instruction book...

Life is good, keep it real

Christmas 2013

Christmas 2013 season was crazy, chaotic, fast and furious!!  Just a few highlights...

December 20, 2013 Mr. Husband and Bootsie drove to Houston/Magnolia to help the Daughter #2 and husband move into their dream house!!  Today is also Daughter #1 and husband's 11 wedding anniversary...time does fly!!

December 21, 2013 after a 12 hour day of loading, moving, cleaning, unloading and unpacking the kids are all moved in...finally time to sit in the hot tub, enjoy a cool adult beverage and relax!!  Ahhhh...

The new house is awesome and we as parents could not be more proud of these kids and all they've accomplished in the fast 4 1/2 years since they've been married.  They had a plan and they stuck to it and all their hard work paid off!!!

December 22, 2013 Mr. Husband and Bootsie drive home from Magnolia to prepare for Christmas Eve with the family.  After the four hour drive we find the energy to go grocery shopping...it was brutal, but so worth it!!

December 23, 2013 Daughter #2 and husband drive to Fort Worth to celebrate Christmas with the family.  So...they get here and the first thing Daughter #2 does is bring out this small gift bag and says "hey, mom, we got you and daddy a little something to say "thank you" for helping us move".  I open the bag and find a baby rattler...O.M.G.   She is pregnant!!!  We're going to be grandparents again!!!  We can not be happier!!!  Daughter #2 has wanted a baby for a long time, but has waiting for the right time in the "plan"...her timing couldn't be more perfect!!

Needless to say we are all about to bust to tell the world!!

December 24, 2013 time to tell the sisters and other close family members the good news!!  Daughter #2 has two small gift bags and gives each sister a bag and tells them they have to open the bags at the same time because it's the same gift and she wants them to see it at the same time...surprise!!!  Both sisters are so excited!!!

Now all we have to do is wait until August/September 2014!!  Baby time!!

Life is good, keep it real!!
